Temporary Car Insurance

The day before New Year's Eve Gary Flood and his wife Penny, who lived in Halifax in Yorkshire were extremely excited. They both came from large families and they have arranged a party for members of both families, some 40 people in all, at a hotel in a pretty little village in Dorset which was considered to be the most convenient place for the rest of the family members to meet, even though it was a very long drive for themselves to face. However, they intended to get up nice and early the following morning and have a leisurely drive down, stopping for lunch on the way.

At 6 AM the following morning the alarm went off and they got dressed, ate a good breakfast and wandered over to their car with Gary carrying their rather heavy case containing their formal clothing for the party, and a change of clothing for the following morning. It was just as Gary was reaching the boot of the car when disaster happened; he slipped and fell, and although not badly hurt he aggravated an old problem in his left knee; although he was able to walk on it you found it extremely painful to depress the clutch on his car. This was dreadful news; it was New Year's Eve and there was just no possibility of arranging any form of alternative transport to such a relatively remote location. And Their New Year's Eve celebration appeared to be over before it had started.

Penny was however a very experienced driver, but she simply wasn't insured to drive their car. She was far too sensible lady to attempt to drive without insurance, and it was just as they were reluctantly trudging back to the front door of their home, with any staggering somewhat under the weight of the case, when Gary suddenly remembered a temporary car insurance scheme that a friend had told him about several weeks earlier! They both hurried indoors, fired up their trusty old computer, logged on to the Internet and did a search through Google for temporary car insurance.

The first site that they found inform them that they could have cover right away, and they could decide to take the insurance out for anything between one day and for weeks; they decided to have three days which would give them enough time to drive down to the party, stay overnight, drive back and then have another day to spare. They filled in the short application form and accepted the very reasonable quotation, paid by credit card and within 5 min Penny was legally entitled to drive the vehicle for the next three days with fully comprehensive cover! She drove them both safely down to Dorset where they had a wonderful party that they would never forget the rest of their days; and all thanks to temporary car insurance, without which they would have had to have stayed at home.
